Formed in early 2003, Good Cop Bad Cop quickly established their musical modus operandi:

If it feels right, it is right.

Why be restricted by rules? Why should a song have a guitar solo? Why should a song not have a guitar solo? Who cares? Just play the damn tune till it makes everyone in the room shake.

Based in Northamptonshire, UK they now have two albums out there (Liberal Hearts Bleeding and the new release End Of The Beginning) and hundreds of live shows under their belts. They have the blisters to prove it.

Good Cop Bad Cop are influenced by life. The roots of the music come from MC5 , Black Sabbath, Fugazi, Husker Du and The Pixies, but listen to the lyrics and you will find storys exploring the darker side of human nature. Tales of love, hate, sex, religion, politics, decadance, frustration and anger. The interesting stuff.

The DIY ethic of the 1980s underground scenes are a huge influence on the band. GCBC has no intention of hitting the big time unless it is purely on their own terms. Simply playing live and documenting material as they go is enough. The more frequent ? the better. The more you play ? the better you become ? the more you write ? the more you play?.
and so on. Simple.

The band live for the rush that comes when new material is performed in front of a crowd before you are too familiar with the structure of that song, when you are on the edge of messing it up. That is where the kick is. Everything else is a bonus.

"I have material planned?.I am not a fucking juke box”
Bill Hicks
